JHS Colour Box gives you the sound of a Neve console preamp in a pedal. Many legendary sounds have been achieved by connecting a guitar directly into the console without an amp or microphone, for example the following: The Beatles' Revolution, Led Zeppelin's Black Dog, Neil Young's Cinnamon Girl, Pink Floyd's Another Brick in the Wall. JHS Colour Box is the first pedal that gives you this sound. Also works with other instruments. Equipped with a Lundahl transformer. Preamp, EQ, overdrive, distortion and fuzz in one.
- Controls:
Master: Master volume control for the pedal, sets output volume level.
Pre-Vol: Controls the amount of gain. Pre Volume is between two gain stages and controls, how much signal is fed from the first gain stage to the next.
Step: Step Gain changes the gain of gain stages. Five options from 18 db to 39 db.
Hi Pass: Hi pass control to control the amount of low frequencies and how much they are cut. Range 60 Hz - 800 Hz.
EQ Controls: Three EQ controls with +/- 17 db range. Frequencies are: Bass 120 Hz, Middle 1 kHz, Treble 10 kHz.
1/4" / XLR Switch: Chooses the active input, 1/4" plug or XLR.
-20 db Switch: This switch lowers the incoming signal level of the XLR in, if needed. - Power Requirements: 2.1 mm 9-18V DC centre negative power supply. Sounds the best when powered with 18 Volts.
