Darkglass Electronics Alpha Omega Ultra gives you two different distortion circuits (Alpha and Omega) which you can blend and mix to suit your needs. Designed in collaboration with Jon Stockman of Karnivool. Ultra version has the following extra features compared to the basic model: 6-band graphic EQ, headphone out, balanced XLR output with an exchangeable impulse response cabinet modelling. Can also be used as a clean preamp, the distortion is activated with its own footswitch.
Blend: Sets the mix between dry and distorted signals.
Level: Sets output level for the distorted signal.
Drive: Sets the amount of gain.
Mod: Sets the mix between Alpha and Omega drive circuits. Alpha is a tight overdrive with lots of punch and distinction. Omega is a distortion which is best described with words like brutal and raw.
Sliders: Graphic EQ controls for the pedal. Controls: Bass (low shelf, +/-12 db 80 Hz), Mid: (+/- 10 db 250 Hz, 500 Hz, 1,5 kHz, 3 kHz), Treble (high shelf +/- 12 db 5 kHz).
Master: Master volume control for the pedal, defines the level of the clean preamp. Also acts as a volume control for headphone and XLR outputs.
Growl: In the up position this switch activates the bass boost, which gives you a more distorted low end.
Bite: Boosts upper mids (2,8 kHz).
Ground Lift: If your XLR output sound has ground loop hum, press this button.
Cab Sim: This button turns the XLR output cabinet simulation on and off.
