The circuitry of Catalinbread Katzenkönig is a combination of the best features of Tonebender Mk II Fuzz and Rat distortion. The end result is a pedal that signs like a fuzz put is tight like a distortion. Works with single coil and humbuckers alike as well as in front of a clean or overdriven amplifier. Recommended placement in the signal chain is after wah/filter/EQ's and in front of milder overdrives.
- Controls:
Volume: Sets output volume level. Katzenkönig does not need to be run loud to sound good. Plenty of headroom available if needed.
Input: Controls input sensitivity. If your guitar is equipped with humbuckers or otherwise powerful pickups, back this control down. With single coils you can raise the Input level.
Gain: Sets the gain for the second gain stage of the pedal. Controls the amount of negative feedback which is unusual for a gain control. The end result is a control with wide range and great sounds throughtout the entire rotation.
Filter: The tone control of the pedal. Improved version of the Filter control that is found on Rat pedals. This control too has very wide range. Gets brighter towards 7 o'clock. Soft of cutting tone, or something in between. - Power Requirements: 2,1mm 9-18V DC centre negative power supply or 9V battery. Power consumption about 10 mA. With 18V you will get more volume and more immediate attack.
