Caroline Guitar Companyn Megabyte gives you a lovely lo-fi delay sound. Megabyte has twice the delay time compared to the Kilobyte, as well as tap tempo, trails or true bypass option, etc. Dry signal is kept 100% analog while the delayed signal is driven through a digital delay chip designed originally for karaoke devices and toys. You can also overdrive the delay with +21 db boost/overdrive preamp that is a part of the pedal.
- Controls:
Mix (up left): Controls the level of delay repeats.
Sum (down left): Adjusts the feedback and the amount of repeats. Begins to oscillate towards 5 o'clock.
Gain (up right): Adjusts the gain of the Megabyte's preamp. Keep near 7 o'clock if you want cleaner repeats. If you want to get down and dirty, turn this knob towards 5 o'clock.
Clock (down right): Controls delay time. Longer delay towards 5 o'clock. You will get more noise as delay gets longer.
Modulation: Small control on the left. At 7 o'clock there is no modulation. As you go towards 5 o'clock, the modulation of the repeats gets stronger.
Divide: Small control on the right, defines tap tempo subdivision.
Tap Tempo/Havoc footswitch: If you keep this switch pressed down, the repeats beging to and will oscillate. When you release it, the repeats get back to normal. When you tap it, it works as a tamp tempo. - Kill Dry switch inside the pedal.
